Most of our guests arrive at Catania Fontanarossa, the airport just south of the city. The good news is that none of our homes is far from it, and there is more than one easy way to make the last leg.
How far is it?
Driving times from the airport, without heavy traffic:
- Catania historic centre: about 15 minutes, to Sikelia Palace on Via Crociferi or the Manzoni apartments.
- Aci Castello: about 20 to 25 minutes, to Casteldaci Sea House and Casa Carretto.
- Santa Maria la Scala: about 35 to 40 minutes, to La Perla del Porticciolo.
- Etna slopes: about 35 minutes, to L’Etna di Gianlelè at Lavinaio, Aci Sant’Antonio.
- Noto: just over an hour, to Villa Ficuzza and Villa Sjria.
The simplest way: a private transfer
We can arrange a private transfer for you, straight from arrivals to your door. The prices are for the vehicle, not per person, and one way:
- From Catania airport: €30 for up to 4 people, €40 for 5 to 9 people.
- From Catania train or bus station: €25 for up to 4 people, €35 for 5 to 9 people.
Tell us your flight or train time, how many of you there are and which home you are staying in, and we will confirm. For the homes further out, by the sea, on Etna or in Noto, please confirm the price with us when you ask, as the journey is longer.

You can request a transfer on the airport transfer page, or simply write to us.
If you want a car
A car is not much use in Catania’s old town, where streets are narrow and our homes have no private parking. For Etna, the coast or Noto it makes a real difference, and for the Noto villas we would recommend one.
We can find one for you. Fill in the short form on our car rental page with your dates, your arrival time, where you land and the driver’s age, and we will come back with a clear quote. There is nothing to pay to ask.
By bus
If you are staying in central Catania and travelling light, the Alibus runs between the airport and the city centre, stopping at Catania Centrale railway station. At the time of writing a ticket costs €4 and is valid for 90 minutes on the city’s buses. Timetables change with the season, so check the AMTS Catania website before you travel.
For the sea, Etna and Noto, a transfer or a car is far simpler.
When you arrive
Check-in is from 14:00, and most of our homes have 24/7 self check-in, so a late flight is not a problem. Before you arrive we send you a short video showing exactly how to get in, and we are on WhatsApp throughout your stay if anything comes up.
